Second Earth

The BBC reports that the gaming company There (1 2 3 4) is creating a detailed model of the entire earth for the US Army. The Army will use the simulated earth to plan future battles.

    Hi Michael,

    One can hope that this technology will trickle out of the defense department and become accesible to everyone. Everything from energy management, to global resouce monitoring and sustainable development efforts could greating benefit from this technology.
