C32 Interactive Fiction Needed, Pronto
Commodore International is about ready to roll out the new C32 (to be marketed as the VIC 40 in Europe), the world’s first hardware implementation of Infocom’s Z-Machine. There’s only one piece missing: Dave Bernazzani needs you to write interactive fiction for its 32kb Z-Carts.

Hahaha. I checked my calendar but it’s September 28, not April 1.
How about an IF product about launching a nouveau-retro Commodore-based IF hardward device? You got the retro-hardware AND the retro-pomo-self reflexivity.

It’s September 28? Sheesh … maybe my version of ProDOS isn’t Y2K compliant.
The programming contest is for real, though!

This is a neat contest idea, but more importantly, the delivery is brilliant. The web site’s writeup is brilliant!
I may just have to enter this.

Don’t you hate it when you post something, then re-read it, and realize that you blatantly used the same adjective twice?
I like an edit button.

Thanks for the interest in the C32 contest – I found this blog searching for my name and C32 (there are not many sites that make mention of the mythical Commodore32). I’ve only got 2 people interested in the contest so far and I’m not sure that’s enough of a critical mass (one person thought it was a joke at first and figured ‘why not?’ when he discovered otherwise). If you are on the fence as to joining the contest, I’d say go for it! :)

The results of the C32 contest have been announced, and there are reviews on rec.games.int-fiction for those who want to check there.
