Eludamos, a New Computer Game Journal

by Nick Montfort · , 2:45 pm

A reminder about a call for papers recently ended up in my inbox – quite a surprise, since I had not seen the original call and didn’t even know that this journal existed. But there is a new open-access, peer-reviewed journal on computer gaming that has already published its first issue. The journal is called Eludamos, and these are the people behind it. I’ve pasted the call for papers below.

Dear colleagues and friends of the game research community,

we would kindly like to remind you of the open call for papers for “Eludamos. Journal for Computer Game Culture.”

This new scientific, international, peer reviewed online journal deals with everything ludic and looks at digital games from a multitude of perspectives. Its approach is deliberately broad to accomodate the rapid changes and constant growth of this highly transdisciplinary field. Check out the first issue at http://www.eludamos.org.

Submissions are expected to be in english and to include full papers plus abstracts. Please note that we can only consider papers which have not been previously published and which are not under consideration for another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). For further specificiation of submission guidelines please consult http://www.eludamos.org.

The deadline for submissions to be considered for the February issue is Dec. 15th 2007. Submissions that reach us after that date will be considered for the summer issue.
